Folios 447-458: Captain Samuel Hood Linzee, HMS L'Oiseau, Table Bay, Cape of Good Hope. Encloses a copy of the decree passed on the Danish ship Den Geode Hensigt by HMS L'Oiseau on about 31st August 1798. The ship was loaded with Naval stores for the Isle of France. The Captain complied with the instructions for adjudication. He asks for the expenses incurred to be considered.

Folio 451: enclosure with folios 447-458. Letter dated 13th June 1799 by George Rex, Public Notary Actuary, counter signed by Captain Samuel Hood Linzee as a true copy.. To the Admiralty. An extraction from the Registry of HM Vice Admiralty Court, before John Holland Judge of the Court, Castle of Good Hope. Signed by [Mickeard?]. He gives details of the sale of Naval stores from Danish ship Den Geode Hensigt and petition of the Claimant, Claas Peter Geilken by his Advocate Doctor Somers. This is for the use of C.[F?.] Blacks Widow [Erik Erickson?], Peter Srickson, both Danish Subjects and the firm of Blacks Widow, the Company of Copenhagen Merchants, Owners and Proprietors. They all condemn captors on coasts. [Wiltenoom?] appealed to the Judge to condemn the naval stores at the time of capture because they were property of the enemies of Great Britain. The Judge having heard the advocates from both sides, judged that the proceeds of the sale should go to the claimant for the use of the persons mentioned. The matter was under seal for 14 days and there were no costs awarded.

To Captains, Commanders and Commanding Officers of HM's ships and vessels. Four paragraphs of instructions for dealing with vessels bearing letters of Marque against France, Spain or the United Provinces. Revoking HM's instructions of 8th January 1794.
