Description

Folios 433-442: Samuel Hood Linzee, L'Oiseau, Table Bay. Encloses a copy of Lieutenant Bardin Collins commission for the ship. Asks for confirmation.

Folios 435-436: enclosure with folios 433-442. Letter dated 26th June 1799 by John Collins, Plymouth Dock Georges No 68 to Admiral Sir Richard King. John Collins has found a copy of his son's passing certificate and the original. He apologises and admits to be ignorant of the business and encloses the copy.

Folio437-438: enclosure with folios 433-442. Note dated 3rd July by [dosso?]. Stating if the enclosed copy is confirmed as a passing certificate, the Commission can be made out.

Folios 439-440:enclosure with folios 433-442. Letter dated 10th August 1797 by Admiral Peter Rainier, Admiral of the White and Commander of HM ships and vessels in the Asiatic Sea, on board HMS Suffolk, Madras Roads and counter signed by J. [Brouncher?] and Captain Samuel Hood Linzee to Lieutenant John Bardin Collins of HM Suffolk. The Warrant of Lieutenant Collins, appointed a Lieutenant of HMS L'Oiseau with detail of duties and regulations.

Folios 441-442: enclosure with folios 433-442. Copy of folios 439-440. Dated 25 July 1797. Counter signed by John [Valrent?] Secretary
