Folios 199-200: Robert Larkan, HMS Camilla, Madeira. Reports with co-ordinates, of ten French Privateers with 10 to 32 guns each rendevous off Tenerife and cruise west of Madeira. This intelligence was obtained from the Master of a Danish Brig and a passenger, a Mr. Cristy, late Master of the Countess of Marlborough. Mr. Cristy's ship apparently had been captured with 5 others of the Meleagers convoy by the Privateers and carried to Tenerife. A Spanish squadron of 4 sail of the line and 5 frigates with 3,000 troops were landed at Tenerife and sailed returning to Spain. Two ships are named, La Muche and Hurzar.
