Folios 582-583: William Lukin, HMS Thames, the Hamoaze. Acknowledges the letter informing him that Lieutenant John Browning Edwards has been appointed to HMS Pearl. Reports that Lieutenant Edwards only joined the Thames two days earlier. Asks whether that appointment was intended as a replacement for Acting Lieutenant George Lowe, who was given his commission by Admiral Lord Bridport, or whether Lieutenant Edwards should indeed go to the Pearl instead.
