Folios 482-483: Charles Lock, HMS Inspector, Gravesend Reach. Reported when at the Admiralty that the Boatswain of the Inspector had been found guilty of embezzlement and that he wished William Ramsay to succeed him, now reports that the current Boatswain drowned on Sunday and renews his request for Mr Ramsay. Also wishes to commend other members of the crew who behaved well during the mutiny, including Quartermaster Elijah Smith, Boatswain John Crompton and Marine Private Richard Peters, who he believes should be promoted to replace Corporal James Istow [?]. Postscript. He has never received a reply to his request for a court martial for the four men sent as prisoners to HMS Nonsuch for plotting mutiny.
