Folios 463-464: Charles Lock, HMS Inspector, Tynemouth Haven. Having had no reply to his letter of 25 April reporting that two ships being fitted out as Armed Vessels are occupying the King's moorings, he has now written to the Masters of both vessels demanding that they move. He has also sent Lieutenant Peter Kelly of the Impress Service at North Shields to reinforce that demand, but he understands from the Master of one of the vessels that his owners have told him not to stir. Since his arrival four men have deserted: Midshipman Francis Jenkins, Armourer William Mollindroff, Able Seaman John Shepherd and Carpenter's Mater Robert Bourley. Reminds the Admiralty that William Clifford, who was apprehended at Hull on 11 March, is still in irons aboard the ship and his health is suffering.
