Folios 527-528: William Lukin, No 3 Fludyer Street. Having been ordered to the Mediterranean in HMS Boston to take Command of a Ship that would become vacant by Captain Purvis taking advantage of leave to come to England, which vacancy did not take place from Captain [John Child] Purvis not thinking fit to quit his crew. He has been obliged to return to England overland and having been entrusted with Admiral John Jervis's Dispatches. Request he be allowed expenses from Leghorn to Cuxhaven which amounts to £58-0s-0d.
