Folios 509-510: William Luke, HMS Caroline, Spithead. States that the following four men:- Daniel Beaton, William McGlocklin, John Eannon and Henry Groot now Supernumeraries on board HMS Royal William (belonging to HMS Blonde) were sent on board there to be addressed as Witnesses against Lawrance Burbo also belonging to HMS Blonde at the time he Commanded her, for attempting to commit piracy on board the American Ship Neptune in May 1795, and has been detained on board HMS Adventure, now arrived here, and being informed that there is not sufficient Evidence that will tend to convict him of the charge and HMS Caroline being short of her complement. He requests they be ordered discharged inti HMS Caroline.
