Folios 176-177: Skeffington Lutwidge, HMS Terrible, Gibraltar. He reports his arrival with HMS Egmont, on the orders of Lord Hood. On arrival he found HMS St Albans and Bulldog ready to sail with the convoy for England. Captain Vashen, HMS Bulldog, will carry the Commander in Chief's dispatches to Sir Robert Boyd. He has taken George Lumsdaine, HMS Iris, under his command, and his ship will embark some of the troops.
Folios 178-179: enclosed with folios 176-177. Letter dated 25 September 1793 by Sir Robert Boyd. Letter to Skeffinton Lutwidge, HMS Iris. Skeffington Lutwidge is ordered to take 2 Battalions of infantry and a company of the Royal Artillery into the ships he commands and take them for the defence of Toulon.
Folio 180-181: enclosed with folios 176-177. Letter dated 8 September 1793 by Samuel, Lord Hood, Vice Admiral of the Red, Commander in Chief, Mediterranean, HMS Victory, Toulon. Orders to Skeffington Lutwidge. He is ordered to take HMS Egmont under his command and proceed to Gibraltar. He is to embark troops on the orders of Sir Robert Boyd and bring them to Toulon.
