Folios 313-314: George William Henry Knight, HMS Surprise, Plymouth Sound. Concerning the case of George Potter, late clerk of HMS Romulus and refers to his statement of 8 November 1814 in which he made known all he knew about Potter's remaining on shore when the Romulus sailed from Plymouth Sound for the coast of America in April 1813. The letter from Potter to the Admiralty accused him of not keeping up the books of the Romulus which is incorrect as the monthly books, quarterly accounts, logs etc were regularly sent to the proper offices and that the pay books were his duty to do.
