Folios 233-234: Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Encloses [not present] writs of Habeas Corpus signed by Lord Ellenborough demanding the production of Thomas Taylor and Joseph Dibble Hoyt, will await further instructions.
Folios 235-236: enclosed with folios 233-234. Extract of a letter from Regulating Captain Benjamin Carter, Liverpool, to the Admiralty, 22 May 1810. Reports that Joseph Dibble Hoyt of Fairfield was impressed by Lieutenant Thomas Evans on 5 May, He said he had been cast away in Cardigan Bay the previous year and came to Liverpool with Captain Pitman, who is his brother-in-law. He is also related to John Hoyt, Master of the Orion of Poole. Thomas Taylor was impressed by Lieutenant Donald Potter in March and said he was born in Philadelphia, but the protection he produced referred to a man 7 years older.
