Folios 229-230: Andrew King, HMS Venerable, the Downs. Encloses a letter from Midshipman Thomas Barker.
Folios 231-232: enclosed with folios 229-230. Letter from Midshipman Thomas Barker, HMS Venerable, the Downs, to Captain Andrew King, 14 May 1810. Reports that a trunk containing his certificates and logs of service was thrown overboard when the ship was aground on the Droguen Lands off Flushing [Vlissingen] the previous September. Hopes the Admiralty will allow him to dispense with these.
