Description

Folios 182-183: Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Encloses two letters he has received from Justice of the Peace James Gerard, with his reply to the first.

Folios 184-185: enclosed with folios 182-183. Letter from Justice of the Peace James Gerard, Town Hall, Liverpool, to Commander Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, 28 April 1810. Acknowledges Commander Killwick's reply to his earlier letter, saying that he is awaiting further instructions from the Admiralty. Nonetheless, asks the Commander and James Duncan, Master, to come to the Town Hall on Monday.

Folios 186-187: enclosed with folios 182-183. Letter from Commander Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, to Justice of the Peace James Gerard. He will send Doctor Gerard's letter to the Admiralty for instructions.

Folio 188: enclosed with folios 182-183. Letter from Justice of the Peace James Gerard, Town Hall, Liverpool, to Commander Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, 28 April 1810. He has been taking depositions from witnesses to the incident when the Princess fired on a boat belonging to the Earl of Chester, during which Jane Graham was wounded. Asks Commander Killwick and James Duncan, Master, to come to the Town Hall on Monday to hear the evidence and enter into a recognizance that they will answer any indictment which might be issued.
