Folios 156-157: Edward Killwick, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Encloses a letter from Purser Richard D Laur, referring to the upcoming trial of Lieutenant William Archbold. He needs Purser's Steward John Smith to give evidence against Mr Archbold, but does not believe the Purser could contribute much to the court martial.
Folios 158-159: enclosed with folios 156-157. Letter from Purser Richard D Laur, HMS Princess, Liverpool. to Commander Edward Killwick, 26 April 1809. As he believes that his Steward, John Smith, will be called to Plymouth to give evidence at the court martial of Lieutenant William Archbold, asks he can be allowed to remain aboard the ship.
