Folios 382-383: Andrew King, HMS Venerable, Chatham. Refers to Admiralty letter of 20 November requesting he state the case of Thomas Howard who deserted from the Royal East London Militia in August 1808. Reports that he volunteered into the service and was sent on board HMS Namur from where he was discharged to HMS Venerable on 27 August 1808. He is 27 years old, rated Landsman and has received His Majesty's Bounty.
