Folios 365-366: Andrew King, HMS Venerable, Chatham. Acknowledges receipt of Admiralty letter of 11 November informing him that they will not pay for replacement hammocks as they should have been removed before the mast was taken down. Gives detailed description as to the circumstances resulting in the removal of the mast that did not permit the prior removal of the hammocks.
