Folios 279-280: William Hugh Kittoe, Southampton. The Lieutenant under his command has impressed two seafaring mean - James Symonds and Jasper Hughes as deserters from the Revenue Service at Cowes. They produced a certificate, copy of which is enclosed, and requests advice on the matter.
Folio 281: enclosure with folios 279-280. Certificate which states that John Tomlyn, James Symonds and Jasper Hughes have been that day entered for the cutter now building and about to be launched at Mevagissey and for which the Admiralty have promised a Protection as per Mr Secretary Barrow's letter of October 22, 1808. Dated 7 January 1809, Southampton Castle.
