Folios 262-263: Edward Kittoe, HMS Sabina, Spithead. Has been put to considerable expense in carrying three Spanish Commissioners to Caracas and for his journey from Gibraltar to Aranjuez and back again with dispatches for the Government of Spain and in conveying His Excellency Mr Stewart and the Hon. Mr Walpole, Mr Meyers and suite from Gibraltar to Malta. Also carrying dispatches from [?] and return there. Requests an Order is granted for him to be remunerated.
Folios 264-265: enclosure with folios 262-263. Order of John Child Purvis, HMS Atlas, Cadiz Harbour dated 7 May 1890. Order for Captain Kittoe, HMS Sabrina to take dispatches to Portsmouth or the first port can readily be arrived at in England. The dispatches are considered of utmost importance and a sufficient weight is to be affixed to them so that in event of attack and no likelihood of escape they can be thrown overboard and sink. On arrival in England to abide by the Quarantine Laws and have no communication with shore until you have obtained pratique. Order also signed by George Hayward.
Folio 266: enclosure with folios 262-263. Copy of Order of Rt Hon Cuthbert Lord Collingwood, HMS Ocean off Cadiz dated 24 June 1808. Order for Captain Kittoe to immediately anchor between the Repulse and the town of Cadiz to receive some Spanish Officers destined for the Caracas in Terra Firma, America. Once on board proceed with all possible haste and land them, delivering at the same time the packet of letters herewith delivered to you for that country. Having received any dispatches and money which the Spaniards may have to send to Spain you are to return to Gibraltar for intelligence. If provisions are required for the return journey call at either Barbados or the West India Islands for it. On approaching Caracas hoist the Flag of Truce and keep it flying as long as necessary. Some of the Spanish Officers wish to land at Cartagna. After landing those who wish to go to Caracas proceed with those who wish to be landed at Cartagna, then execute the remainder of these Orders.
Folio 267: enclosure with folios 262-263. Copy of Order of Charles Fleming, HMS Bulwark, Gibraltar dated 27 February 1809. Rear Admiral Purvis has stated that it is of greatest consequence that His Excellency Mr Stewart, the Hon. Mr Walpole and Mr Meyers should go to Malta at the first opportunity. Captain Kittoe is directed to receive them on board, with the messengers accompanying Mr Meyers, and proceed without delay. After arrival at that Port follow the Orders received from Rear Admiral Purvis.
