Folios 259-260: Edmund Knox, 41 Upper Grosvenor Street, London. States that due to ill health had to give up command of HMS Pultusk on 8 August last and has that day returned from the West Indies.
Folio 261: enclosure with folios 259-260. Order of William Charles Fahie, HMS Abercrombie dated 7 August 1809. States that William Maude, Captain HMS Alcmene, Edward Crofton, HMS Wanderer and Thomas Whinyates, HMS Frolic together with the assistance of their Surgeons took a strict and careful"survey" of Edmond Sexton Pery Knox, Commander of the Pultusk and were of the opinion that a change of climate was absolutely necessary for his recovery.
