Description

Folios 231-232: Richard Goodwin Keats, HMS Superb, Tagus. Reporting the arrival in the Tagus of Captain Dumaresq with HMS Calpe to have defects repaired. A carpenter's report is enclosed and forwarded to Vice Admiral Sir Charles Pole. No repairs will be undertaken without the Admiralty's permission.

Folios 233-234: enclosure with folios 231-232. Letter dated 11th November 1801 from Richard Goodwin Keats to the Carpenters of HMS Superb, Phaeton and Penelope, with instructions to repair HMS Calpe after damage caused by a storm. Itemises a list of defects, including the main mast being sprung in three places and the and the ship is nail sick.
