Folios 225-226: Richard Goodwin Keats, HMS Superb, off Lisbon. Informing that the Superb and Defence left Vice Admiral Pole at anchor off Cadiz and are now cruising off the Tagus. The Prince of Wales packet went into the Tagus on the previous day. Mentions the capture of a privateer by the defence.
Folios 227-228: enclosure with folios 225-226. Copy of letter from Captain Keats to Vice Admiral Pole, dated 18 September 1801, from HMS Superb at sea, informing that the Defence has returned with a French lugger privateer with 14 guns and 60 men, named L'Enfant du Carnival.
