Folios 163-164: Edward Kittoe, HMS Bittern, Spithead. Transmitting a letter from Thomas Bampton asking for discharge. He appears to be of the age he states and is extremely deaf and infirm.
Folios 165-166: enclosure with folios 163-164. Letter dated 29 September 1800 from Thomas Bampton on HMS Bittern at Spithead. Following the death of his father in 1780 he has inherited his house in Clerkenwell. He requests his discharge in order to deal with his affairs, and because he is now fifty one years of age.
