Folios 144-145: Edward Kittoe, HMS Bittern, Spithead. Informing that he has arrived from St Christophers [St Kitts] with a convoy from Surinam and Demerara. He encloses his orders from Vice Admiral Lord Hugh Seymour and Rear Admiral Duckworth, and details of his journey from Surinam together with a list of defects of HMS Bittern.
Folios 146-147: enclosure with folios 144-145. Praising some of the Masters of ships in the convoy and admonishing Thomas Coffrey, Master of the ship Active for collaborating with a Prize Master.
Folios 148-149: enclosure with folios 146-147. Letter dated 23 August 1800 from Thomas Coffrey to Mr Taylor, giving his address as Lloyds Coffee House, London, stating he was the Prize Master of the Columbus, taken by the Vulture, Captain Toole, who will give Mr Taylor a ship to command.
Folios 150-151: enclosure with folios 148-149. Letter dated 23 August 1800 from from Samuel Welby to Mr Taylor. The weather is not suitable for his vessel to go to Gibraltar. Reference is made to his former conduct.
Folios 152-154: enclosure with folios 144-145. Letter dated 20 June 1800 from Lord Hugh Seymour, Vice Admiral of the Blue and Commander in Chief of His Majesty's ships and vessels employed in Barbados and the Leeward Islands. Commanded to collect the trade of Surinam and join the homeword bound convoy. If the wind is bad [Mr Taylor] should proceed to St Christophers or await further orders in the Charlotte sloop.
Folios 155-156: enclosure with folios 144-145: Letter [copy] dated 29 July 1800 from Admiral John Thomas Duckworth commanding Edward Kittoe to proceed with his convoy and overtake and deliver HMS Lapwing and HMS Zephyr to Captain Rotheram for return to Martinique. If this is not possible he should proceed to the Downs and report to the Admiralty on his arrival. He should report any ship that tries to leave the convoy.
Folios 157-158: enclosure with folios 144-145: Letter [copy] from Admiral Duckworth, dated 29 July 1800 from HMS Leviathan, St Christophers [St Kitts]. Disappointed that the Surinam has not joined the convoy. If it has not arrived by tomorrow afternoon, it should proceed through the Dog and Prickly Pear islands.
