Seeking an answer from the Board regarding his request (letter dated 12 January 1798) that they dispense with the survey of the stores on HMS Goliath, so he can receive his pay, noting that there was no Boatswain on board on 4 March as Mr Campbell was on sick-leave and Knowles was himself attending a court martial.
