Folios 184-185: Richard Goodwin Keats, HMS Galatea, Falmouth. He announces his arrival. But he has revceived notice that some of the enemy's frigates have been seen recently off St David's Head with serious reports of their intention to land somewhere nearby. He proposes to proceed with all speed, together with HMS Anson, into that channel.
Folio 186: enclosure to folios 184-185. An internal Admiralty note expressing dissatisfaction at Captain Keats's action. He should have waited for orders and until a sufficient force had been assembled to intercept the enemy.
