Folios 21-22: Richard Goodwin Keats, HMS Galatea, Torbay. He was separated from Commodore Sir John Warren in a gale and he has been unable either to rejoin him or return to the appointed rendezvous at Falmouth. Accordingly, he has dropped anchor in Torbay to shelter from the gale. As he is running short of provisions, water and stores it is his intention to proceed to Plymouth rather than Falmouth as soon as he is able. If the Commodore has not yet arrived he reports that HMS Orion separated from the rest of the squadron in 16th and HMS [Artois] on 24th and that on 27th they saw 16 men of war that they took to be Admiral Colpoys, at a distance of about 20 leagues off the Scillies.
