Description

Folios 242-243: George Hilton, HMS Nimrod, Portsmouth Harbour. Asks for the R to be removed from the name of Peter Waites as more fully explained in the enclosed letter.

Folios 244-245: enclosed with folios 242-243. Letter dated 28 August 1815 by Doctor Pattison, Magistrate, Berwick, to Captain Hilton, HMS Nimrod, Portsmouth. Advises that Peter Waites called upon Admiral Stow and himself asking for a certificate to be granted at the dispensary. He is very ill with consumption which has made it impossible for him to join his ship and asks for any R to be removed from his name.
