Folios 140-143: James Hillyar, at sea. Marked No 12. Refers to his previous letter of 11 May 1814 report his visit to the head guarding the armies of Lima and Chile and his efforts to reconcile the difference between the two nations. He refers to previous correspondence. Reports that he arrived at Santiago on 16 April 1814 and refers to letters number 6 and 7 [not present]. There follows a very detailed account of events in the period to 5 June 1814 when he parted from other ships at the Tagus.
Folio 144: enclosure with folios 140-143. James Hillyar. This appears to be the last page of a letter to the Admiralty recounting his receiving private letters from Santiago saying that all was well.
Folios 145-146: enclosure with folios 140-143. A letter in Spanish, with a translation, from Francisco de la Lastra, 9 March 1814, about his appointment as Supreme Director of the State of Chile which will be difficult and arduous.
Folios 147-148: enclosure with folios 140-143. Marked Confidential, Francisco de la Lastra, Santiago, writes in Spanish to James Hillyar,
