Description

Folios 113-114: William Hext, HMS Vesuvius, River Gironde. Reports that George Lodge, carpenter's mate of HMS Montague, was strongly recommended by Captain Peter Heywood and appointed carpenter of HMS Vesuvius in lieu of Peter McKinnon who was drowned on 11 July 1814. Asks that the appointment be confirmed.

Folios 115-116: enclosure with folios 113-114. Letter dated 17 July 1811 by Admiral Edward James Foote, on board HMS Montagu, Verdun Roads to George Lodge appointing him carpenter of HMS Vesuvius.
