Folios 445-446: John Halsted [(2)], [Regulating Officer, Gosport & Portsmouth] Reply to letter dated 6 July 1814 (including one from William Harding) with directions to report there on. He acquaints that with Lieutenant George Plowman and Lieutenant Charles Mayer he has examined his statement and the reason of his being discharged and find he was formerly a Deserter from HMS Polyphemus but being found by the Surgeon unfit for the Service. [Total of two sides mentions:-] Captain Devereux[?], John Nepean, Fareham Gang, Local Militia, Captain Turner, William Hunt (one of the Midshipman) who keeps a Public House in Fareham, Fareham Rendezvous.
