Description

Folios 436-437: Graham Eden Hammond, HMS Prince of Wales, at the Motherbank. Reports his arrival in this ship from the Mediterranean. He encloses a report by the Captains of HMS Ocean, HMS Prince of Wales & HMS Union together with a memorandum from Vice Admiral Francis Puckmore to leave the Command of HMS Rivoli to the Leading Lieutenant.

Folio 438: enclosure with folios 436-437. Survey held on HMS Rivoli By:- Robert Plampin - HMS Ocean, John Erskine Douglas - HMS Prince of Wales & Robert Rolles - HMS Union. Survey on Graham Eden Hammond, Captain of HMS Rivoli and find that he is afflicted with restriction of the Urethra as well as Dyspeperia due to a Chronic affection of his liver. They recommend his return to England.

Folio 439: enclosure with folios 436-437. Vice Admiral Francis Puckmore, HMS Royal George, Port Mahon. To Captain Hammond, HMS Rivoli. The Captains of HMS Ocean, HMS Prince of Wales & HMS Union having in their report of Survey dated 24 May 1814 recommended that you return to England for your health. You will leave the Command of HMS Rivoli in the charge of the Senior Lieutenant and proceed to England.
