Folios 415-416: George Harris, HMS Belle Poule, Spithead. As it appears by Mr Secretary Barrow's letter of the 27 June 1814 that from the very great number of Gunners without ships that it was not possible to promote Mr William S Forbes, late Acting Gunner of HMS Belle Poule. He states that he is a native of Guadeloupe and requests directions for him to be discharged from HM Service as per the order respecting foreigners. [Mentions:-] Captain James Brisbane, his predecessor.
