Folios 412-413: John Halsted [(2)], Regulating Officer, Gosport Alex Howe. Covering letter for the enclosed Certificate for a deserter from HMS Newcastle who was apprehended, at the time he was entering on board Transport and on its being presented to the Clerk of the Cheque, the office was informed no rewards was to be paid in future unless the man had been absent three musters. There was a similar case last week. Requests to be informed if such instructions have been issued to the Clerk of the Cheque?
Folio 414: enclosure with folios 412-413. Certificate that John Williams was received on board HMS Newcastle on 30 May 1814.
