Folios 232-233: Richard Hawkins, HMS Minerva, Downs. Reply to letter dated 5 April 1814 informing him that Lieutenant [Philip] Bowchier was appointed to HMS Minerva in the room of Lieutenant [James] Anderson, as there is still a vacancy he request to know if Lieutenant [Philip] Bowchier may fill the vacancy of Lieutenant [Benjamin?] Lewin (who was discharged at Plymouth per Admiralty orders on the 2 April 1814 for a passage to the West Indies) and Lieutenant [James] Anderson still remain 1st Lieutenant of HMS Minerva his seniority is the 21 January 1809, he was appointed from HMS Indian to HMS Minerva at Halifax, when we were on the point of sailing short of a Lieutenant.
