[Admiralty note] Captain [Gawen] William Hamilton to have a Commission for HMS Havannah: Captain James Black for HMS Rainbow: Captain Arthur Stow to HMS Pelorus: Captain Charles Hole to HMS Guadeloupe: Lieutenant Samuel Trevor Dickins to be confirmed as Commander of HMS Badger. The following Midshipman now acting to be confirmed as Lieutenants of the ships against their names:- Mr George Campbell - HMS Caledonia, Frederick William Lapidge [William Frederick Lapidge] - HMS Franchise, [Alexander] George Stewart - HMS Quail, Henry William Lewis - HMS Ocean, Thomas Hippius - HMS Alcmene, George S Smith - HMS Berwick to vacancy occurred by invaliding of Lieutenant Witherston, Robert Pearce - HMS Prince of Wales & Masters Norman to HMS Barfleur.
