Folios 167-168: James Hilgrove. Charles Hilgrove Hammond [Executer] on behalf of James Hilgrove. States Messrs Whitehead[?] & Co the Bankers who received the Pay of Captain James Hilgrove a Lieutenant with the rank of Commander, who died in Jersey on 7 January 1814, applied to the Navy office to know what documents were needed ro be produced to receive the pay due to the Gentleman at the time of his death and were told they must apply to the Admiralty.
