Covering letter for the enclosed Order from Rear Admiral Penrose, a Log of his proceedings [not present] since he left England and a List of Convoy [not present] that sailed from Passages [Le Passage], having encountered a most severe Gale from the Westward in the Bay of Biscay [reports damage to her sails].
Folios 165-166: enclosure with folios 163-164. Orders dated 23 February 1814 by Rear Admiral Charles Vinicombe Penrose, HMS Porcupine. off [?] to Edmund Hayward, HMS Ethalion. Orders to make signal for Convoy and take all Transports ready for Sea bound for England either Plymouth or Portsmouth depending on the Transports Orders.
