Folios 127-128: James Hillyar, HMS Phoebe, Spithead.
Having been asked to account for why he had procured men unfit for service who who were now invalided at Plymouth he points out they were prisoners in the American privateer which HMS Phoebe captured on 23 December and that they were sent to HMS Salvador on Sir Robert Caldes's orders.
