Description

Folios 172-173: Frederick Hickey, No 70 Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury Square. Covering letter for the two enclosed Orders from Vice Admiral Sawyer directing him to receive on board HMS Atalante Augustus John Foster Esq, His Excellency Sir James Cockburn Bart., Major General Wallace and Thomas Barclay Esq. and he requests the usual allowance will be made.

Folios 174-175: enclosure with folios 172-173. Orders dated 12 July 1812 by Vice Admiral Harbert Sawyer, HMS Centurion, Halifax, to Frederick Hickey, HMS Atalante. Orders to receive on board Augustus John Foster Esq His Majesty's late Envoy Extraordinary and Minster Plenipotentiary to the United States and also Mail for England and proceed to Spithaed.

Folio 176: enclosure with folios 172-173. Orders dated 21 July 1812 by Vice Admiral Harbert Sawyer, HMS Centurion, Halifax, to Frederick Hickey, HMS Atalante. In addition to his orders of yesterdays date you are to receive on board HMS Atalante His Excellency Sir James Cockburn Bart. Governor of Bermuda, Major General Wallace and Thomas Barclay Esq, Consul General for the Eastern part of the United States for a passage to England
