Folios 162-163: Frederick Hickey, HMS Atalante, Portsmouth Harbour. Covering letter for the two copies of Acting Orders for Mr Thomas Garrett Carpenter and Mr George Newland Boatswain of HMS Atalante. The former he recommends as a deserving man and the latter as undeserving a Boatswain Warrant. Requests they confirm the Carpenter , his predecessor having died at Bermuda Hospital and supercede the Boatswain.
Folio 164: enclosure with folios 162-163. Orders dated 26 May 1812 by Vice Admiral Herbert Sawyer, HMS Africa, Bermuda, to Thomas Garnett, HMS Africa, to act as Carpenter of HMS Atalante.
Folio 165: enclosure with folios 162-163. Letter dated 9 December 1812 by Vice Admiral Herbert Sawyer, HMS Africa, Bermuda, to George Newland, appointing George Newland, Acting Boatswain of HMS Atalante.
