Description

Folios 462-463: John Houstoun, HMS Saint Pierre, Spithead. Covering letter for the enclosed copy of his Orders from Vice Admiral Sir Alexander [Inglis] Cochrane KB and report having received Sir George Beckwells dispatches he sailed from Guadeloupe on 31 May 1810 and arrived here last evening at 10 o'clock. The accompanying Log of his proceedings and the dispatches have been delivered to the Post Office.

Folio 464: enclosure with folios 462-463. Orders dated 28 May 1810 by Vice Admiral Sir Alexander [Inglis] Cochrane, HMS Neptune, Carlisle Bay, Barbados, to John Houstoun, HMS Saint Pierre. Proceed to Basseterre Guadeloupe, receive the dispatches which Lieutenant General Sir George Beckwith the Commander of the forces may be desirous of sending to England and then sail for Spithead.
