Folios 388-389: Henry Heathcote, HMS Lion, Spithead. Covering letter for the enclosed and states he feels it a Duty to pass on and states the Author, James Barclay is entitled to every assistance that can be given for [his] uncommon Valour when engaged by the Ladrones (on the Coast of China) in the launch of HMS Lion. - He is Run on the Books but purchased his imprisonment may have occasioned it.
Folios 390-391: enclosure with folios 388-389. James Barclay, to the care of Mr Newham, Old Bailey, London. Petition, being near to the end of a Seven year sentence he would like to serve in His Majesty's Navy.
