Folios 381-382: Henry Heathcote, HMS Lion, Spithead. It having been suggested to him that the Schooner Topaz (which he purchased in India for the sake of saving her from the Enemy, and for the purpose of annoying the Enemy's Trade among the Philippines & in the neighbouring Seas during the inactivity of HMS Lion at Canton) might be serviceable in proceeding HMS Lion on her passage up the Persian Gulph [Gulf] by a continual communication of the Soundings obtained. He offers her services on this occasion to the Admiralty. [Gives details of her location, condition and dimensions].
