Folios 373-374: James Hills, Regulating Officer, Cowes Rendezvous. Reply to letter dated 21 May 1810 and state that John Rose was impressed on shore at Cowes on 18 May 1810 by Lieutenant [John] Good of the Cowes Rendezvous and put on board HMS Royal William on 19 May 1810, he not having any Protection. Mr Philip Francis of Cowes to whom John Rose was apprenticed informed him today that he was out of his time [at] the beginning of last January and has not sailed with him since that period.
Folios 375-376: enclosure with folios 373-374. Letter dated 19 May 1810 by Sarah Rose, Cowes, to the Admiralty. Request [from the Mother] for the discharge of John Rose as his Father is a Prisoner of War in France and he was training to be a Pilot for the Trinity Board.
