States that Captain [Henry William] Bayntun of HMS Milford came on board HMS Armide prior to he sailing from Basque Roads and from his statement to him and his own observations he was of the opinion that her Main and Mizen Mast was too near to each other and also said that if she had more fore foot when opportunity offered it appeared to him it would improve her steerage and which is, he thinks, is what French Ships generally were in want off.
