Folios 245-246: James Hay, HMS Papillon, Spithead. Reports his arrival in HMS Papillon having sailed from Bassaterre [Basse-Terre] Guadeloupe on 28 February 1810 with Major Berkeley, Aid de Camp to General [George] Beckwith Commander in Chief of the Leeward Islands, and Lieutenant Mitchell of HMS Pompee, charged with dispatches for Government. He landed those Officers yesterday in Cawsand Bay and proceeded to the anchorage as per orders of Vice Admiral Sir Alexander [Inglis] Cochrane .
