Folios 172-173: Henry Heathcote, HMS Lion, Chatham. Reply to letter of direction dated 14 February 1810 to acquaint you who John Thom, Master's Mate of HMS Lion is. He states that he is the son of an Insurance & Ship Broker in London and in reply to their Directions that he should also state how he came to be on board, he came on board five years ago with Lord Keith [Sir George Keith Elphinstone (1st Viscount Keith)].
