Folios 160-161: William Buckley Hunt, HMS Britomart, Yarmouth Roads. As per order from Vice Admiral Douglas dated 8 February 1810 directing hi to report on Valentin Lighton, he was impressed on 29 January 1810 in Yarmouth Roads by Mr James Michael Callum, Acting Master from the Clyde, Has been between 8 and 9 years at sea, is 24 years of age & has never received the Bounty and having no other protection but the one enclosed [not present] the figures of his age appearing to the Master as much like 44 as 24 and being much in want of seamen.
Folios 162-163: enclosure with folios 160-161. Petition dated 5 February 1810 by James Miller, Downes Wharf, East Smithfield. Petition of James Miller stating that the Admiralty granted a protection from Impress to the Edinburgh & Leith Shipping Company's smack Clyde dated 1 December 1809 for twelve men and boys inclusive. The said vessel was on a voyage from Leith to London . She was boarded by the Master and several men of HMS Britomart off Yarmouth and Valentine Layton was impressed. Request Valentine Layton be delivered to them.
