Folios 156-157: William Buckley Hunt, HMS Britomart, Yarmouth Roads. As per orders form Vice Admiral Douglas directing him to report to you the case of John Smith (Apprentice) who was impressed in Yarmouth Roads on 29 January 1810 by Lieutenant Samuel Knight(1) from the Sea Nymph Collier, [he] has been at sera 2 years, by trade he is a Cabinet Maker, is about 19 or 20 years of age, has never received the Bounty, he can take the helm and his protection appearing a false one as the seal of the Admiralty Office being very imperfectly stamped and the signatures not corresponding with those in several public documents.
Folios 158-159: enclosure with folios 156-157. Letter dated 9 February 1810 by Thomas Gustard with Mr Brown, 36 Shakespear Walk, Shadwell, London, to the Admiralty. About the 30 of last month John Smith apprentice to Mr John Railsten of North Shields was impressed on the Brig Sea Nymph under his command laying in Yarmouth Roads by Lieutenant Knight of HMS Brightmat [Britomart]. Request he be discharged.
