Folios 277-278: Joshua Sydney Horton, Liverpool Regulating Captain. Reply to letter 18 September. Owen Owens impressed age 23 born Carnarvon was second Mate of the Phoenix lost off Jamaica. To London on the Bun[?] then overland to Liverpool. Joseph Russel sailmaker age 24 said he was born Charlestown. Had no American protection. Signed up to the Volunteer Corps 15 August. Arrived by the Anthony, Captain Williams. Married in Cheshire. Impressed January, information he was Irish but released when produced American Protection. Returns enclosures.
Folios 279-280: enclosed in folios 277-278. Elizabeth Russell, 15 New Bond Street, 16 September 1809. Petitions for her husband a Volunteer under Captain Norris, Liverpool Volunteers. Leaves three children. Requesting his discharge.
Folios 281-282: enclosed in folios 277-278. John Evans, 6 Burleigh Street, Strand. Writes for relative Owen Owens impressed at Liverpool. Hasn’t been at sea long. Requests a substitution.
